Fall? Really?

I like Autumn. I can't decide whether I like it better than Spring or Summer. It's not too hot, is gloriously crisp and sunny, and the leaves are a brilliant array of color, not to mention, my birthday is in the same month that Fall starts. So yes, I like Autumn!

But, this one has been very weird. First, the weather was very nice, mild, and crisp and the leaves slowly started turning color. Then it got dreary, cold, rainy, and muddy for weeks. And then, a couple times in October, we woke up to several inches of snow on the ground!!! There was seriously 2" of snow blanketing trees that still had leaves on them and even some of them were still green!!
The leaves survived though and stayed on their branches quite a bit longer than usual, although I thought they weren't quite as pretty as they have been in past years. Another weird thing; under normal circumstances, you can plan on raking leaves after the middle of October, but this year, the leaves have just fallen in the past couple days!

So yeah... weird. :P I think I shall give up my notion that Wisconsin is very normal, weather-wise. It never ceases to surprise me. Which is a good thing. Because I wouldn't have anything to blog about, if it didn't, now would I? ;)

One last Glimpse of Summer

The season has changed now and the temperature has gotten below freezing so these pretty sunflowers are no longer lush and beautiful. But I wanted to post one last picture of summer before Fall sets in. :)

Bird's Eye View

When we were at the Wilderness Fellowship, I saw this eagle WAAAAAY out across the swamp so I had to zoom in quite a bit to get a decent picture. So, thus the somewhat blurry, low quality grainy-ness. Anyways, enjoy. ;)
